Viesatas Parish Library was established in 1921 as Strutele library. According to the certificate issued by the Latvian State Historical Archives, a Library Association "Ausma" was active in Strutele and in 1922 the library had 125 books, but in 1925 - 593 books. From 1954, with the dissolution Strutele village council and its incorporation in Viesatas village council, the library was renamed Viesatas Parish Library, but still located in Strutele. In 1975 a new recreation center and library was constructing – ever since then library is located there.
Viesatas Local Municipality Library's mission is: to make information technology accessible to inhabitants, to promote children's literacy and youth joy for reading, and continue to identify, preserve and promote local cultural heritage.
